What is the Development Program?

This program is designed to elevate your skills and overall performance as a player, offering challenging scenarios, ample puck handling opportunities, and continuous decision-making within a game-like setting.

Practices
After the evaluation skate, players will be placed on small teams to compete for the I-270 Cup. Each Tuesday (30 min) & Thursday, teams will play small area games battling for points for placement in the I-270 Cup Tournament during the final week of camp. The top team in the standings chooses the small area game to be played for the tournament. The winning team receives a special prize. In the past, it has been Championship Hoodies.
Tuesday sessions: 30-minute skill and technique work (passing, shooting, skating, decision making, position specific details) and 30-minute Tournament Style Small Area Games
Thursday sessions: Tournament Style Small Area Games where Wins and Losses are recorded after each 8 - 10 minute game.
JERSEYS
All players will receive a practice jersey and t-shirt.
COACHES
The practice and games will be facilitated by Coach RJ and his staff. Each year, the Columbus Chill bring in the top coaches and trainers to help the players during the Spring and Summer program. LHSS and Lee Harris participate in the Tuesday skates.
There will be a goalie coach for the goalies at the Tuesday skates. Goalies are rotated between the teams. Goalies need to be able to focus and refocus quickly in the small area game environment. This could be the best development they will see all year.
Summer Session
This program will OPEN to the public ON Wednesday, May 22 at 8 AM.
